Muddy Waters. Leadbelly. Screamin' Jay Hawkins. The Mississippi Delta, Memphis and Chicago. At the time of publication, Blues Access was one of the leading blues music magazines in the world. Moxie Sozo was privileged to art direct, design and produce this magazine over the final two years of circulation before the publisher, legendary "Red Rooster" Cary Wolfson, retired. Allowed creative latitude, the agency created a signature style for the magazine that reflected the history, emotion and tactile nature of the subject matter. The lessons learned from this project continue to resonate within the agency today.
